Shopify staff login history

Shopify shows five recent login sessions, a user-management log, and your own devices

Direct answer. Shopify shows each user’s recent login sessions in the admin: Settings > Users > the user > under Roles, View store. Shopify Help says the Recent access to store section lists the five most recent login sessions with the date, IP address, ISP, the staff member’s location at login, and browser and operating system. That page is separate from the store activity log, and the Devices list on Log in and out of your Shopify account is for your own account. Quotes below are from those Help pages, checked 13 October 2026.

Staff Access Audit Guard (Shopify App Store · Write a review): “Review installed app access, granted scopes, staff access records, and ownership evidence without reading customer or order data.” The listing does not say the app reads Shopify’s login history.

Checklist before you treat a login as current access

View login history

User activity and log in history says: “You can review the login history of any user in your store or organization. Staff members can review their individual login histories as well. You should review user login histories periodically to verify that there hasn't been access from unknown ISPs, locations, or IP addresses. This could be an indication that the staff member's account has been compromised.”

The same page’s steps, as written:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users.
  2. Click the user that you want to review the login history of.
  3. Under Roles, click the button > View store.
  4. In the Recent access to store section, review the five most recent login sessions and the following information about each session: date; IP address; ISP (internet service provider); the staff member’s location at login; browser and operating system.
  5. Optional: To view the full browser and operating system details, hover your cursor over the truncated value in the Device and Browser column.

The same page states: “Only eligible users can access user activity.” This page does not name which accounts can open that view.

User management activity log

Shopify Help: “The user management activity log records events related to user activity. For example, when a user or user role is created, edited or deleted.” The next sentence: “You can monitor user management related activity in your store or organization in the User management activity log in the Users > Security page of your Shopify admin settings.”

Steps on that page:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users > Security.
  2. In the User management activity log section, click View.
  3. Optional: To view more details about the event, click the event.
Columns Shopify lists for the user management activity log
Column Description, as written
Event A description of the action taken by the user. For example, “The user was assigned the Merchandiser role.”
Resource The area affected by the action. For example Users.
Date A timestamp of when the event occurred, including the timezone. For example, “6/27/2024, 11:16 AM EST”.
User The name of the user.

The store activity log is a different page

The user-activity page’s note: “This page covers the user management activity log which tracks user and role changes. For the store activity log which tracks general admin actions such as product changes and settings updates, refer to Activity logs in the Shopify admin.”

Activity logs in the Shopify admin opens: “Activity logs help you track changes and monitor user activity in your Shopify admin. The store activity log includes recent actions taken by store owners and users, whereas page activity displays when multiple users are viewing or editing the same page simultaneously.”

Devices on your own account

The Devices steps are on Log in and out of your Shopify account, under Manage devices. They review devices that have accessed the account you are logged in with. They are not the staff member’s Recent access to store list.

Shopify Help: “You can review which devices have recently accessed your account, and log out any you don't recognize, to keep your account secure.”

The steps on that page:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click your store name.
  2. Click your profile, and then click Security.
  3. In the Devices section, review which devices have recently logged in and out of your account.
  4. Optional: To review the Login history and Pages visited of a device, click the device’s name.
  5. Optional: To log devices out of your account, click the Log out button to the right of the device’s name, or click the device’s name and then click Log out device. If there are more than five devices that have recently logged in, then you can click Log out all devices > Log out.

The same section notes: “Logging out all devices also logs you out of your current device. To access your account, you need to log in again.”
