Track domain expiry, registrar, and ownership changes via RDAP
RDAP Domain Expiry & Whois Scraper looks up domains you already have through RDAP and records expiry timestamps, registrar, registrant/ownership, nameservers, change history, and expiry warnings. It is registration-record monitoring for portfolio renewal, brand protection, and IT governance — not TLS certificate inspection, not multi-resolver DNS propagation, and not HTTP status QA.

RDAP registration records, not TLS certs or DNS propagation
Use this page when the job is domain expiry, registrar, nameserver, and ownership diffs via RDAP. Use SSL/TLS Certificate Scraper for protocol-level TLS expiry and fingerprints. Use DNS Propagation Checker for public A/MX/NS records across eight resolvers. Use DMARC & Email Security Checker for SPF/DMARC/MX grades.

| What it reads | RDAP registration records | TLS on the supplied host (default port 443) | Public DNS via Node.js dns.Resolver |
| Primary output | Expiry, registrar, ownership, NS, changes, warnings | Cert fields, changes, optional Web Risk | Resolved values, TTL, resolver identity |
| Not this job | TLS handshake, HTTP status, HTML crawl | RDAP/Whois registration data | RDAP expiry or ownership diffs |
Store ID: taroyamada/rdap-domain-monitor. This is an RDAP protocol lookup, not an HTML crawl and not a CAPTCHA bypass.
Use cases
- Portfolio renewal planning: expiry warnings before domains lapse.
- Brand-protection watches: registrar, nameserver, and ownership transfers.
- IT/security governance: scheduled RDAP diffs on assets you operate.
- SEO drop-catch / backlink opportunity watch on domains you already list.
- M&A due diligence: registration facts for a bounded domain list.
How is RDAP Domain Expiry & Whois Scraper different from SSL/TLS Certificate Scraper and DNS Propagation Checker?
This Actor looks up domains you already have through RDAP: expiry timestamps, registrar, registrant/ownership, nameservers, change history, and expiry warnings. Required input is domains (maximum 500). Store ID taroyamada/rdap-domain-monitor. SSL/TLS Certificate Scraper inspects TLS certificates on hostnames (maximum 200): expiry, issuer, SHA-256 fingerprints, optional Google Web Risk; it does not query RDAP. DNS Propagation Checker queries public A/AAAA/MX/TXT/CNAME/NS/SOA across eight resolvers (maximum 200) and does not fetch RDAP registration records. DMARC & Email Security Checker grades SPF, DMARC, MX, and optional DKIM on domains. Use this Actor for RDAP expiry and ownership monitoring.
What input is required?
domains is required: domain names to look up via RDAP, maximum 500 per run. Schema prefill is example.com and example.org. additionalProperties is false.
| Field | Type | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
domains |
string[] | required | Max 500. Schema prefill: example.com, example.org |
checkOwnership |
boolean | true | Detect registrant/NS changes between runs |
expiryWarningDays |
integer | 30 | Alert when expiry is within this many days. Store example run uses 120 |
delivery |
string | dataset |
dataset or webhook |
webhookUrl |
string | — | Required when delivery is webhook |
snapshotKey |
string | rdap-domain-snapshots |
Persist baseline across runs. Store example run uses rdap-domain-monitor-snapshots |
concurrency |
integer | 3 | Parallel RDAP lookups. README tip: keep low, often ≤ 5 |
emitUnchanged |
boolean | false | Keep off so unchanged runs produce zero rows and zero charges |
dryRun |
boolean | false | Skip saving snapshots and sending webhooks |

What does a monitoring result contain?
The published README output table lists meta and results[]. Per-result fields are domain, status, rdap, changes, warnings, checkedAt, and error. The README sample uses fictional dates and is truncated; treat it as an illustration, not a live coverage guarantee. Lookup failures stay in the free OUTPUT diagnostic record and are never billed as result rows.
How do unchanged rows, snapshots, and webhooks work?
Recurring runs write only initial or changed successful checks to the billable Dataset by default. Stable checks produce 0 Dataset rows and 0 result charges. emitUnchanged defaults to false; keep it off for recurring monitoring. Keep snapshotKey constant across runs for change detection (schema default rdap-domain-snapshots). delivery defaults to dataset. Set delivery to webhook and provide webhookUrl to POST the same summary-plus-results JSON. dryRun true skips saving snapshots and sending webhooks.
Does this Actor crawl websites or solve CAPTCHAs?
No. It looks up registration data through RDAP for hostnames you supply. It is not a page crawler, not HTTP status QA, not TLS handshake inspection, and not a CAPTCHA or anti-bot bypass. Keep concurrency low (README tip: typically 1–10, often at or below 5). Unreachable lookups produce an error row; other domains continue.
How is RDAP Domain Expiry & Whois Scraper priced?
Billing is pay per event. The live Store card is $9.00 / 1,000 delivered monitoring result rows. The billed event is Delivered monitoring result row (apify-default-dataset-item) at $0.009, charged only when a new or changed monitoring result row is delivered. Unchanged runs are free. There is no Actor Start on the current pricing tab. The README Cost section that still quotes actor-start $0.01 plus dataset-item $0.003 is stale; those figures are not the live Store rates.
$9.00 per 1,000 delivered monitoring result rows ($0.009 per new or changed row)

- Maximum 500 domains per run. Required field is
domains. - RDAP protocol lookup only — not HTML crawl, not HTTP status, not TLS, not DNS propagation.
- Unchanged successful checks are not billed unless
emitUnchangedis true. Failures stay in freeOUTPUT. - Keep concurrency low. Unreachable lookups do not stop the rest of the batch.
