CLP metafield sync

CLP hazard on the product page needs synced metafields — not a one-off theme paste

Direct answer. Shopify Admin has no built-in CLP / GHS hazard pictogram block: a custom metafield or theme paste can show text, but nothing keeps a hazard profile synced into a theme block with an audit trail. CLPLens records CLP hazard display data, syncs app-owned product metafields for theme-block storefront display, and keeps audit records of what was shown.

CLPLens: CLP Hazard Display (Shopify App Store) records CLP hazard display data, syncs app-owned product metafields, and shows storefront hazard information with audit records. The app does not classify mixtures or write the SDS. This page is not legal advice.

App-owned metafields are the storefront contract

A one-off theme paste can drift from the hazard profile you approved. Syncing app-owned product metafields keeps the theme block pointed at the same recorded hazard display data, with audit records of what was shown. That is a different job from reviewing missing fields before publish.

How to sync hazard display through app-owned metafields

  1. Record CLP hazard display data in the product hazard profile.
  2. Sync app-owned product metafields so the theme block can read them.
  3. Confirm storefront hazard information on the live product page.
  4. Keep audit records of hazard display changes alongside the metafield sync.
