Review missing CLP hazard fields before you publish

Gap-check pictograms, signal word, and H/P statements before the CLP block goes live — a gallery photo is not the review

CLPLens: CLP Hazard Display (Shopify App Store) is a Shopify app that creates product hazard profiles with GHS pictograms and statements, reviews missing hazard fields before publishing product pages, syncs app-owned metafields for theme-block storefront display, and keeps audit records. It does not classify mixtures, write the SDS, or provide legal advice. This page is not legal advice.

Free check first: CLP label element checker runs in your browser and sends nothing. Paste CLP label text and see which Article 17 label elements it mentions or lacks.

Job: before you publish a distance-sale hazard block, compare the on-page profile to what you intend to show — GHS pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, precautionary statements, and any related label elements you are actually displaying. Missing fields here are a pre-publish gap review, not classification.

Compare the profile to the block you are about to publish

A storefront CLP block is only as complete as the profile behind it. Walk the fields you mean to show: pictograms, signal word, H-statements, P-statements, and other label elements already on that profile. A blank or leftover field is a gap to close before the product page goes live — not a new hazard class the app invents.

Distance-sale offers of hazardous mixtures sit under CLP Art. 48 and Art. 48a as amended. The pictogram-and-statement job on the product page is the sibling CLP hazard pictograms on the product page. This URL stays on the gap-check before that block publishes. Confirm Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Regulation (EU) 2024/2865, and Regulation (EU) 2025/2439 on EUR-Lex, not this paraphrase. Listing sequence: profile, missing-field review, metafield sync, live PDP, audit

  1. Create the product hazard profile with GHS pictograms and statements.
  2. Review missing hazard fields before publishing product pages.
  3. Sync app-owned metafields to a theme block when you use that storefront path.
  4. Confirm the live product page shows the profile you reviewed.
  5. Keep the audit record of what you published.

A pack shot is not the pre-publish review

A gallery photo can omit statements and fail on a phone. Treat the structured profile — pictograms plus statements — as the thing you gap-check. Do not treat a bottle image as the review. The surface that belongs on the offer is the sibling pictograms on the product page, not only the parcel.

Native ops: paste from the label or SDS you already hold

Merchants often copy pictograms and H/P statements from the pack label or the safety data sheet they already hold, then record that display data in the hazard profile. Review missing fields on that profile, sync app-owned metafields when that path is how the theme block reads the data, and keep the audit record. Shopify Admin is not a CLP classifier and not an SDS authoring desk on this page.
