DHL Express and a PO Box

DHL Express US terms say shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes or postal codes

Direct answer. The DHL Express Terms and Conditions of Carriage for the United States, section “3. Deliveries and Undeliverables,” say: “Shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes or postal codes. Shipments are delivered to the Consignee's address given by Shipper but not necessarily to the named Consignee personally.” The page title is “DHL Express Terms and Conditions of Carriage.” The canonical path is the US edition, /us/en/. This page did not find an effective date on that page, so it does not state one. This page covers the DHL Express US terms only. It is not legal advice.

Checklist before you treat a PO Box as a DHL Express delivery address

Section 3 of the US terms

Under “3. Deliveries and Undeliverables,” the US page says: “Shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes or postal codes. Shipments are delivered to the Consignee's address given by Shipper but not necessarily to the named Consignee personally. Shipments to addresses with a central receiving area will be delivered to that area.” The share subject on that page is “MyDHL+ DHL Express Terms and Conditions of Carriage.”

The navigation of the same site links to other documents, including a money-back guarantee. Section 3, as quoted here, is not that document. This page does not quote a money-back-guarantee clause, a fee, a surcharge, or a transit time.

Other countries’ DHL Express editions, and other DHL units, are not quoted here. This page covers the DHL Express US terms only.

USPS Street Addressing

usps.com says: “This lets you receive packages from private carriers (such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon), as long as they comply with USPS mailing standards.” That sentence is about Street Addressing on the USPS page. How the address is written is US PO Box address format. Whether DHL Express will deliver to a Street Addressing address is DHL Express’s rule. The section 3 sentences quoted above do not mention Street Addressing.
