CRA role and scope self-check
Article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 has applied since 11 September 2026, and the rest of the Regulation applies from 11 December 2027 (EUR-Lex). By 11 September 2026 a Shopify store in the manufacturer role should have had a product file ready for that reporting duty, and by 11 December 2027 the remaining duties for products it places on the EU market: CRALedger Duty Records on the Shopify App Store.
Direct answer. Type what the product is, how it connects and whether you make, import or resell it, for example we import a smart plug under our own brand and sell it in the EU. The page lists which articles of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 to read, each as a question, with the key application dates from Article 71. It does not say whether the Regulation applies to you. It runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
This is a reading aid, not legal advice and not what any app checks. To track product roles, checklists and open record gaps for CRA duties, try CRALedger Duty Records (Shopify App Store).

Key dates in Regulation (EU) 2024/2847
Article 71 sets three application dates. They come from the regulation text, not from this page’s matching.
- 11 June 2026: Chapter IV (Articles 35 to 51, notification of conformity assessment bodies) applies.
- 11 September 2026: Article 14, the reporting duties of manufacturers, applies. Under Article 69(3) it applies to all in-scope products, including those placed on the market before 11 December 2027.
- 11 December 2027: the rest of the Regulation applies. Under Article 69(2), products placed on the market before that date are subject to it only if they undergo a substantial modification from that date.
Where the questions come from
Roles come from Article 3 (manufacturer in point 13, importer in 16, distributor in 17) and Articles 19 to 22. Scope comes from Article 2 and the definitions in Article 3. The Annex III and Annex IV prompts name categories listed in those annexes. The page matches words in what you type; it cannot judge intended purpose, substantial modification or whether another EU act applies. Read the regulation text on EUR-Lex and the guides on CRA duty records, role checklists and Article 14 deadlines.

What this page is not
- Not legal advice and not a statement that the Regulation does or does not apply to your product or role.
- Not a list of everything CRALedger Duty Records covers; the app is what counts.
- Not a conformity assessment, a risk assessment or a check of any technical requirement in Annex I.
- Not a data collector: text you type stays in this browser tab.
