Prop 65 warning assignment
A Prop 65 warning assignment answers which products carry a warning — not only the wording on one page
To see which products carry a Prop 65 warning in Shopify's native Product Disclosures, turn on "Filter on the product list and in the Admin API" for the Disclosures metafield definition (Settings > Metafields and metaobjects > Products), then filter Products by the Prop 65 disclosure type and save the view. If you manage warnings in Prop 65 Warning Manager instead, every warning needs merchant approval before it goes live, so an assigned warning does not reach the storefront until you approve it.
Prop 65 Warning Manager (Shopify App Store) displays California Prop 65 warnings on product pages and keeps an audit trail of warning edits, assignments, and storefront activation events. Every warning needs merchant approval before it goes live. Publish from templates citing 27 CCR §§ 25601–25607, including 2028 short-form text with chemical names. The app does not decide whether an exposure requires a warning. This page is not legal advice.

Assignment is the product link — separate from activation and from theme paste
Theme paste and native Product Disclosures can put warning text on a single product page. A warning assignment is the catalog link: which products are tied to which warning, with merchant approval before go-live, and with those assignment events recorded in the audit trail of edits, assignments, and storefront activation events.

How to assign warnings across the catalog
- Choose a cited warning template (including 2028 short-form with chemical names when that is the content you rely on).
- Assign the warning to the products that need it — not only the one page you are editing by hand.
- Require merchant approval before any warning goes live.
- Keep the audit trail of warning edits, assignments, and storefront activation events.

Not the same as activation audit, food short-form, cart, or 2028 copy
- Storefront activation — the go-live event after approval. See storefront activation audit.
- Native disclosures vs approval desk — typed notice versus approve-before-go-live. See native disclosures vs approval and audit log.
- Food short-form — /food URL and no triangle. See food short-form.
- 2028 chemical-name short form — label-date content. See 2028 product-page warning.

What this page is not
- Not legal advice or a decision that Prop 65 applies to a SKU.
- Not a substitute for the activation, food, cart, alcohol, jurisdiction, or 2028 siblings.
- Not a claim that native Disclosures cannot show a warning on one product.
