Prop 65 storefront activation audit

A storefront activation record is not the same job as typing a warning into the theme

Prop 65 Warning Manager (Shopify App Store) displays California Prop 65 warnings on product pages and keeps an audit trail of warning edits, assignments, and storefront activation events. Every warning needs merchant approval before it goes live. Publish from templates citing 27 CCR §§ 25601–25607, including 2028 short-form text with chemical names. The app does not decide whether an exposure requires a warning. This page is not legal advice.

Activation is the go-live event — not only the text you typed

Native Product Disclosures can show a typed notice on the product page and cart. Theme copy can show a warning too. A storefront activation audit answers a different question: when did this warning go live on the storefront, after whose approval, and what was assigned — recorded with the listing’s audit trail of edits, assignments, and storefront activation events.

Listing sequence: template, approval, activation, audit

  1. Choose a cited warning template (including 2028 short-form with chemical names when that is the content you rely on).
  2. Require merchant approval before any warning goes live — not theme-only display.
  3. Activate on the product page (theme app block path on the listing).
  4. Keep the audit trail of warning edits, assignments, and storefront activation events.
