Prop 65 audit trail

An assigned Prop 65 warning still needs an audit trail of picks, edits, and go-live

Direct answer. Shopify's native Product Disclosures can show a Prop 65 warning on the product page, but Admin does not keep an audit trail of which warning you picked, who edited it, or when it went live. Prop 65 Warning Manager records picks, edits, and go-live events so you can review the warning history without reconstructing it from theme paste or chat.

Prop 65 Warning Manager (Shopify App Store) keeps an audit trail of warning picks, edits, and go-live, requires merchant approval before any warning goes live, and supports 2028 short-form warnings with chemical names. This page is the audit-trail slice — not approval alone, storefront activation, assignment catalog, or 2028 template content. This page is not legal advice.

Picks and edits are not the same as a theme paste history

Theme files and native disclosure metafields show the current warning text. They do not give you a reviewable trail of which template you picked, what changed, and when go-live happened.

How to keep an audit trail of picks, edits, and go-live

  1. Pick the warning content you intend to use (including chemical names where required).
  2. Edit in the app so each change is recorded.
  3. Approve before go-live so the storefront only shows warnings that passed the gate.
  4. Review the audit trail of picks, edits, and go-live when you need the history.
