Prop 65 merchant approval
Every Prop 65 warning needs merchant approval before go-live — not theme-only paste
Prop 65 Warning Manager (Shopify App Store) displays California Prop 65 warnings on product pages and keeps an audit trail of warning edits, assignments, and storefront activation events. Every warning needs merchant approval before it goes live — it is not a theme-only display tool. Publish from templates citing 27 CCR §§ 25601–25607, including 2028 short-form text with chemical names. The app does not decide whether an exposure requires a warning. This page is not legal advice.

Merchant approval is the gate — theme paste is not the same control
Pasting warning text into the theme can put a string on the page without a recorded OK. Merchant approval before go-live means a person accepts the warning content before storefront activation, with picks, edits, and activations timestamped in the audit trail. That gate is what separates an approval-and-audit path from theme-only display.

How to require approval before go-live
- Choose a cited template (27 CCR §§ 25601–25607, including 2028 short-form with chemical names when that applies).
- Assign it to the products that need it.
- Require merchant approval before any warning goes live — do not treat theme paste as the go-live step.
- Keep the audit trail of picks, edits, and storefront activation events after approval.

Not the same as activation audit, native vs audit, assignment, or 2028 content
- Storefront activation audit — the go-live event after approval. See storefront activation audit.
- Native disclosures vs audit log — when typed native notices are enough. See native vs audit log.
- Catalog assignment — which products carry a warning. See warning assignment.
- 2028 chemical-name short form — why the short form must name a chemical. See 2028 product-page warning.

What this page is not
- Not legal advice or a decision that Prop 65 applies.
- Not a claim that native Disclosures cannot show a warning.
- Not a substitute for the activation, native-vs-audit, assignment, or 2028 siblings.
