Right to Repair Directive transposition
Art. 22 sets the transposition deadline; country status is on EUR-Lex, not here
Direct answer. Article 22 of Directive (EU) 2024/1799 tells Member States to bring into force the laws, regulations and administrative provisions necessary to comply with the directive by 31 July 2026 at the latest, to inform the Commission, and to apply those measures from 31 July 2026. Verify that deadline on the live EUR-Lex article; corrigenda may exist. For whether any Member State has notified measures, use EUR-Lex’s national transposition measures collection. This page states no country’s transposition status. It is not legal advice.
RepairProof EU (Shopify App Store · Write a review) verifies purchases before accepting repair requests, issues revision-linked repair forms, tracks diagnosis, quote, repair, return and closure, and preserves redacted repair records. It does not certify repairability or decide your legal obligations. This page is the Art. 22 / EUR-Lex NIM reading aid — not the repair-proof record walkthrough.

Checklist: deadline versus national measures
- Open Directive (EU) 2024/1799 on EUR-Lex and read Article 22, not this paraphrase.
- Treat 31 July 2026 as the transposition and application date only if the live article still says so.
- Open the EUR-Lex national transposition measures page for this directive when you need notified national texts.
- Do not rely on this page, a news summary, or an app listing for any country’s status.
- Remember EUR-Lex’s own caveat: Member States are responsible for the measures they notify, and the collection is updated on EUR-Lex’s schedule.
What Article 22 says, as published
The Official Journal text of Directive (EU) 2024/1799 includes this Article 22 wording:
- Member States shall bring into force the laws, regulations and administrative provisions necessary to comply with this Directive by 31 July 2026 at the latest, and shall immediately inform the Commission thereof.
- When they adopt those measures, the measures shall contain a reference to this Directive or be accompanied by such a reference on official publication.
- Member States shall apply those measures from 31 July 2026.
- Member States shall communicate to the Commission the text of the main measures of national law they adopt in the field covered by this Directive.
Confirm that article on EUR-Lex before you diary it. A directive is addressed to Member States; national law is what applies in each country after transposition. This page does not describe any Member State’s statute.
Where to look up notified national measures
EUR-Lex maintains a National transposition measures page for the directive at legal-content/EN/NIM/?uri=CELEX:32024L1799. That collection states that Member States bear sole responsibility for the information they provide, that the collection does not prejudice the Commission’s verification of completeness and correctness, and that it is updated weekly. Open that page when you need a country’s notified measures. This guide does not copy, count, or characterise those rows.
What this page is not
- Not legal advice, and not a country-by-country transposition tracker.
- Not a claim that any named Member State has or has not transposed the directive.
- Not the repair-proof record walkthrough. That URL is EU right-to-repair proof.

Not legal advice. Confirm Article 22 and the EUR-Lex national transposition measures page before you treat any deadline or country file as current. This page states no country’s status. The app records repair work you enter; it does not certify transposition.
